In today’s lesson, we’re going to learn about Paul and a shipwreck. We’ve learned a lot about Paul and his life. He’s been beaten up and kicked out of cities for teaching about Jesus and he’s even been thrown in jail for his faith. Well, Paul’s troubles continued when he was put on a boat with other prisoners to cross the Mediterranean Sea to get to Rome. He wasn’t going there on vacation. He was going there to stand trial before the most powerful man in Rome. But along the way, a big storm came and blew the ship around for several days causing it to break apart. Imagine how scared everyone must have been. Everyone was scared, except Paul. He knew God was going to protect them. God told him that everyone would make it through the storm and everyone did! Paul knew God was big enough to protect them. He had faith that God would be true to his word and he was. We can learn from this story, too. When scary things happen to us, we can pray and ask God to help us because we have a big God on our side who can do anything!
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
