Who Were The Prophets?

Today the Holy Spirit speaks through the Bible to remind us what God wants.

The Old Testament is the first part of the Bible and it’s also the bigger section. It tells the story of how God created the world, how God’s people were rescued and brought to the Promised Land and a bunch of other cool things. A big chunk of the Old Testament is full of books named for prophets. A prophet was someone God chose to be like his spokesperson. When God had a message to share, he would speak it to his prophet and then the prophet would tell the people. You’ll notice books named Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Malachi. They were all prophets of God! We don’t need prophets today the same way they were needed them back then because now God speaks to us through the Bible. Just like the prophets told the people what was right and wrong, now that can all be found in the Bible! So, when we want to hear God speak to us, all we have to do is read our Bibles!
