Jesus is king no matter who cheers for him.

In today’s lesson, we’re going to learn about a special day when Jesus was celebrated as a king. Jesus had been traveling from town to town teaching about who he was and what he came to do and also performed many miracles. The people knew that Jesus was someone special. One day, Jesus was ready to head in to the city of Jerusalem. He told his disciples to go find a specific donkey that he would ride in to town. The disciples did as they were told and brought Jesus the donkey. As Jesus started down the mountain toward Jerusalem, the people praised his name and showed him honor by waving palm branches as he passed by. Well, the religious leaders didn’t like what the people were doing. In fact, they told Jesus to tell the people to stop treating him like a king. But Jesus said that even if the people stopped praising him, rocks would do it! Why? Because Jesus is God and he is the creator of all things. Everything in the world was created by him and for him. So kids, even if some people don’t cheer for Jesus, remember that he is the king of the universe and he deserves our praise! Even the rocks know that!

  4. Who got angry at the celebration? Why did Jesus allow them to cheer?
  5. Read Revelation 17:14. Who is the Lamb in this verse and how did he defeat his enemy?
  6. How will you apply this lesson to your life this week?
