Saul Meets Jesus

Nobody is so bad that Jesus can’t help them. Even the meanest person in your school can experience the love of God!

In today’s lesson we’re going to learn about a guy named Saul. Saul was a religious Jewish guy who studied the law of God and thought he was great because of all of his knowledge. Saul also had a strong dislike for people who were following Jesus. He would hunt them down and put them in jail or watch them get beat up, some to the point of death! He wasn’t a nice guy. Now, Saul didn’t know Jesus. In fact, he thought Jesus was just a carpenter’s son with no education and of no importance. Well, one day Jesus appeared before Saul and spoke to him (see Acts 9). Imagine Saul’s surprise as he was walking along a road and suddenly a bright light turned on and a voice spoke to him! Jesus wanted to show Saul just how powerful he was so he made Saul blind for three days! Then, Jesus sent one of his followers to pray over Saul to heal him. From that day on, Saul was a follower of Jesus. Saul’s story can give us hope, too. With Jesus’ help, even the meanest person you know can become a Christian.
